What was the inspiration for Uga?
This is the song I consider the most fun! One night I drank a glass of whiskey and smoked a bowl of Willie Nelson reserve, sat down at my keyboard and wrote the song in about 2-3 hours. It just poured out. I thought it was so cool, I just went with it. It has me talking to a caveman, asking him what he thinks of me. I’m wondering if I would have survived had I lived in those days. I ask him why don’t you come live with me, because though you would not be free, you would be alive. It would be interesting to see if cavemen could play by modern rules. My son Quinlan, plays guitar on this track.
